Our 2024 date will be coming soon.

9:00 am – 2:00 pm
Timberline Church
Fort Collins, CO
At our Family Strengthening Conferences, trained instructors present a research-based curriculum to the parents that qualifies for parent continuing education units (CEU’s).
While adults receive their training, children and youth attend SuperHero Academy and Finally Home Solid Rock Students Programs. Due to the diversity of programs, participants can attend as a whole family, removing the need to find specialized childcare.
This years conference will focus on Survival Skills for Healthy Families: Parents as Models.
Child and Teen Tracks will focus on kindness.
What’s included:
Lunch and refreshments.
Valuable resources at the event and after.
Five (5) hours of foster parent education credits toward filling annual requirement (while this is a benefit, even if you don’t need CEUs you are welcome and encouraged to attend).*
Connection with fellow parents and families.
*All Finally Home training qualifies for certified parenting education/licensing credit. Certificate provided at the end of the event. Participants are responsible for securing course approval by qualifying agency if attending for foster parent licensing credits. Finally Home can provide curriculum information upon request.
Testimonials
Came to the event feeling depleted and left feeling rejuvenated with more tools in my tool belt. Now I don’t feel so alone in the fostering process.
Thank you for the excellent program! It was well done, supportive, and very generous! I will use this information to assist guests at my job. It will enable me to help my daughters with their foster children!
I was thinking about the first time I came to a Finally home family strengthening event. We were new to foster care. It seemed like we had enough people prying into our personal lives (home study, county, attorneys, case workers), so I came not wanting to engage with even more people. I put on my ‘don’t talk to me’ face and kept it there most of the day. Kristin wasn’t going to have it. She was very kind and made a great lasting impression.

Adult Track
This year’s conference will focus on Parents as Models. This course focuses on some of the fun parts of parenting: spending time with our kids, playing, encouraging, and talking together. Parents, like it or not, you are a role model for your children. Children learn by copying what they see other people do. Children are most influenced by the people who spend the most time with them. They learn about themselves through the way they are treated by the adults who raise them and they learn how to treat others. You’ll learn how to:
- Lead by Example
- Connect
- Listen, And…
- Talk to Your Kids
Child Track
Children infants through 5th grade will participate in our SuperHero Academy. The will learn that that Kindness is Cool from SuperHero Sam.
Trained volunteers will guide children through engaging SuperHero-themed crafts, activities, music, and small group discussions.
Teen Track
Solid Rock Students will do a short service project, discuss the importance of kindness, and go on a fun field trip. Full details will be provided at registration.
Past outings have included experiences like rock climbing, sports games, equine assisted therapy, ropes courses, hikes, cooking classes, and more.
